New Student/Move-In Information

It is our goal to help make the semester move-in and students return to campus a positive experience for everyone involved. We want each student and parent to take comfort in the knowledge that your mail and packages are handled safely and securely from receipt to delivery here at The University of Rochester. In order to best serve our students and parents, we are providing the following information:

Covid-19 Impacts

Covid-19 will impact the operation of the Campus Mail Center (CMC).

As of 8/10/21 new University guidance: masks are required indoors regardless of vaccine status. You will need to have a mask on to enter the Campus Mail Center.

Due to the larger than normal incoming class, we suggest that you bring as much with you to school as you can rather than ordering things that need to be picked up at the Mail Center. If possible please bring large items such as refrigerators and linen sets with you. Also, if possible, please order your books early and bring them with you.

Extended Package Store Hours during Move-in, Todd Union
  • Package Store Operations: Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm from 8/23/21 to 9/24/21
  • Package Pick-up: Saturday hours from 10am to 2pm, beginning 8/21/21 (closed 9/6 Labor Day)
  • Retail Window: Saturday hours from 10am to 2pm, beginning 8/28/21 (closed 9/6 Labor Day)
Normal Package Pick-up Hours and Postal Window Hours, Todd Union
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (beginning 9/26/21)
  • Saturdays 10am to 2pm (open during academic school year)

Package Notification

If you are expecting package(s), please wait for an email confirmation from the Campus Mail Center that your package has been processed and is ready for pick-up. An email from the delivery company such as UPS or Amazon couriers does not mean that your package is ready to be picked up. Your package notification from the Campus Mail Center will include the package location (Rack, Tube, Floor, Large and Perishable), all of which are located in the Campus Mail Center.

Pickup Reservations

Reservations are recommended to pick up your package at the CMC. Take advantage of our reservation link to reserve a time. Thirty minutes advanced notice is required.

Students in Quarantine Off-Campus

If you are a Campus mailbox holder and are in a quarantine location off-campus, you may ask to have your package delivered to you. Available Monday through Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm. A 24-hour advanced notice will be required. Please schedule by contacting us at

Student Care Packages

Care packages can be sent to students, we only ask that during the start of each semester to please wait until after the first few weeks of activity has settled down and the student’s books and dorm room necessities have arrived.

Mailbox Keys

New students can pick up their mailbox key at Orientation or the Campus Mail Center during regular business hours.
