The building at 10 Gibbs Street was bought by the Eastman School of Music in 2003 using $1 million donated by Martin E. Messinger, member of the ESM Board of Managers and also a University of Rochester Trustee and alumni.  The building houses the Eastman Community Music School.  In October 2005 the building was named Messinger Hall in memory of Messinger's mother, Anne Waltuck Messinger. .
