SECTION 02831 - CHAIN LINK FENCES AND GATES

1.1 SUMMARY

A. Heavy industrial fencing, consisting of 2-inch (50-mm) mesh, 6-gage fabric.

B. Standard industrial fencing, consisting of 2-inch (50-mm) mesh, 9-gage fabric.

C. Light industrial and standard residential fencing, consisting of 2-inch (50-mm) mesh, 11-gage fabric.

D. Tennis court fencing, consisting of 1-3/4-inch (45-mm) mesh, 11-gage fabric.

E. Light residential fencing, consisting of 2-1/8-inch (54-mm) mesh, 11-1/2-gage fabric.

F. Security fencing, consisting of 3/8-inch (10-mm) mesh, 11-gage fabric.

G. Ornamental fencing, consisting of 5' high black pearl Ultra aluminum fence, model UAF 201, 2-1/2-inch square by .100" thick posts, 1" square by .062" thick pickets spaced 1-1/2 inches apart, 1-5/8-inch rails .070" thick top walls and /100" thick side walls.

1.2 MATERIALS

A. Chain Link Fabric:

1. Galvanized steel.

2. Aluminum-coated steel.

3. Zinc-aluminum-misch-metal alloy-coated steel.

4. PVC-coated steel.

5. Aluminum with mill finish.

B. Framework:

1. Galvanized Steel: Type I round.

2. Polymer-Coated Steel: Type I round.

3. Aluminum: Round.

C. Privacy Slats: Polyethylene tubular slats.

D. Barbed Wire: Steel.

E. Barbed Tape.

F. Gates: Swinging.

G. Gate Operators:

1. Electric motor with enclosed gear reducer and chain drive.

2. Card reader.

1.3 INSTALLATION

A. Install fencing with top rail.

B. Install fencing with center rails.

C. Install fencing with bottom tension wire.
