- Garden plants should be checked periodically for summer pests. Check the timing for last application
in relation to the date of harvest for edible crops. Use organic control measures as available, check with your local garden center.
- Check your watering and feeding schedule.
- Harvest amounts should be recorded for review in January.
- 1-2 inches of water per week is needed by lawns, trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials.
- The cutting heights of your lawn mower should be raised.
- Give your houseplants a bath and check for pests. Water and feed as needed.
- A post-emergent crabgrass control can be used as needed.
- Pruning of evergreen shrubs in July will allow for proper hardening off of new growth prior to winter.
