Amaryllis Care

These bulbs will bloom year after year if given proper food and rest. While growing, the pot can be in the sun, however once the buds begin opening, move to a warm spot with indirect light. Water as soil feels dry.

To save for another year, keep foliage growing after the flower fades. Cut off flower stalk maintaining the foliage, watering and balanced fertilization in a sunny spot. You should not fertilize a plant when soil is dry.

In mid-August, move to a garage or basement. Do not water or remove foliage until early November. Bring the bulb in to a bright location and start again. GOOD LUCK!
