Providing services to the University of Rochester students, staff and faculty it serves as an on-campus location for your mailing needs.

The Campus Post Office is a privately run station of the United States Postal Service. The USPS contracts the University to sell postage and money orders; handle special service mail such as Express, Certified, Registered, and Insured.

A Mail Collection Box for outgoing mail is located across from the Service Window; mail leaves campus to the US Post Office at 5:00 pm promptly Monday through Friday.

The Package store, also located in the Todd Union Building, offers UPS and Federal Express delivery and carries many different size boxes to handle most of your shipping needs.


Sending Mail

For postage sales the campus post office window is open Monday -Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-2pm (academic year only.) The mail drop is located next to the front window. Mail is picked up from the USPS at 5pm each day. All outgoing mail must be received at the campus post office no later than 5:00pm to ensure same-day delivery to the United States Post Office.


Receiving Mail

Incoming student mail is sorted based on the students box number and is available to be picked up after 10:30am. All mail and packages addressed to students on campus should follow this format:
     Student Name
     500 Joseph C. Wilson Blvd.
     CPU Box #27XXXX    <-- where XXXX is last four numbers of your mailbox
     Rochester, New York 14627


Forwarding Student Mail

To set up mail forwarding you first need to know about what type of things that we can forward to you.

First: Only first class mail and packages can be forwarded.

Second: All other mail is either returned to sender or recycled. This includes magazine subscriptions!

Third: All non-USPS packages such as from FedEx, UPS, and DHL cannot not be forwarded and will be returned to sender.

Once there you will be asked for your student ID number NOT your NetID. Everyone was emailed their own password, however if you have forgotten yours there is a “Forgot Password: link to recover it. Click that button, enter your Student ID number and a new password will be emailed to you.


Payments Accepted

New!! The Campus Post Office now accepts departmental blue requisitions for all services (except US Postal Money Orders) in addition to cash, check and Student Flex cards.


Box Rental

Each student is provided with a campus post office box (which remains the same for four years) to receive both U.S. and campus mail. Who Can Have One: All full-time faculty members, administrative department, full time students. How to get one: Come to the front window at the campus post office. Package slips: For articles of mail too large for fit into your box you will receive a package slip notifying you where the package can be picked up. A yellow slip can be taken to the front window. A blue slip can be taken to the package store.


Tracking a Package and Pick-up Availability

The Campus Post Office receives packages from all of the major carriers throughout the day.

Students receiving packages are notified via email. Each email represents one package. You will need a photo ID and a printed copy of the email to pick up your package.

Packages can be picked up at the package store window during open hours. To track a package you need the tracking number and the service through which it was sent. Click on the service provider to reach their tracking page.
