Supervisor, “Environmental Technicians”
Staffed as determined by Management.
Responsibilities
of the Environmental Operations Group (EOG) shall include, but are not limited
to:

Operation of Headend
interfaces of the Apogee and Continuum Building Automation Systems.
·
Make all necessary
programming modifications.
·
Assist environmental
mechanics in problem solving and trouble shooting.
The environmental technicians are
not a “front line” HVAC service mechanic.
·
Identify the nature
of and aid in correcting excessive alarms.
·
Perform field cabinet
upgrades as required.
·
Act as an
Environmental coordinator.
·
Perform scheduled
backup to the main Apogee and Continuum front ends.
·
Continually update outside
light program schedule.
·
Continually develop
and maintain Apogee and Continuum graphics.
·
Provide service and
support to remote site contracts. Eastman, Memorial art Gallery, COI/LLE
·
Maintain and improve
existing communication networks.
·
Develop and maintain
central data file backup disks and Laptop based backup as available.
·
Install, in a
cost-effective manner, research alarms such as freezer/cooler, incubator, cold
room, etc. alarms.
·
Maintain a database
of alarm points for a customer base outside of the Facilities group.
·
Verify proper
operation of existing freezer/cooler alarms on a regular schedule.
·
Develop and maintain
a central project controls submittal reference file.
·
Install/support
remote Apogee and Continuum workstations as required.
·
Attend all project
“walk throughs” on projects.
·
Coordinate and review
all controls for new project installations with PPM.
·
Coordinate with
central stores on appropriate standard DDC parts to maintain.
·
Assist in ongoing
energy management projects as required.
·
Provide call in
service support on an as needed basis.
·
Coordinate new
project control work with existing equipment and system specifications.
·
Perform “small”
project installations. “Small” project
work may include:
New cooler/freezer alarm installations,
DDC equipment relocation’s, i.e. relocation of a vav box
local controller
Installation of new field panel’s not related to specific
PPM projects.
Projects outside of this scope, or beyond the current
capabilities of this group will be identified as such so that other
construction options may be pursued.

Perform routine
preventative maintenance for all cabinets at the Medical Center and River
Campus. PM should include verification
of proper end device operation.
Should any major problems occur within the university
requiring additional HVAC service assistance, the environmental technicians
will be available. This, however,
should be an exception and not the norm.
