Frequently Asked Questions
As a member of this community, the University of Rochester is seeking public participation to encourage positive community relationships and demonstrate community stewardship. The public is being given an opportunity to comment on the University of Rochester's High Pressure Cogeneration Project because certain applicants for New York State Department of Environmental Conservation permits must actively seek public participation in the permit process. One goal of public participation activities is to increase public understanding of the High Pressure Cogeneration Project. Another goal is to ask for comments and feedback from the interested public. The University of Rochester intends to accomplish these goals by communicating with the public during the project and by adapting its approach as necessary based in part on public comment. Through the permit application approval process, the public is given the opportunity to ask questions and comment on the permit application that the University files with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. By law, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is required to address the questions and comments received on the University's permit application.
